Oklahoma Grilled Steak Pizza

Makes 8 slices (sauce makes enough for 2-3 pizzas)

16 ounces homemade pizza dough or frozen dough

¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese


6 ounces steak, cut into medallions 1/8 -inch thick (can use tenderloin or round steak)

Tomato slices 1/8 -inch thick

Purple onion slices 1/8 -inch thick

PIZZA SAUCE

1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste

¼ cup water

¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon honey barbecue sauce (KC Masterpiece brand suggested)

1 tablespoon hickory brown sugar barbecue sauce (KC Masterpiece brand suggested)

1 teaspoon minced garlic

¾ teaspoon onion powder

¼ teaspoon each: salt, black pepper, dried basil, oregano and dried marjoram

1/8 teaspoon each: crushed red pepper flakes and cayenne pepper

•Mix together pizza sauce ingredients and heat over low heat, stirring. Set aside.

•Lightly flour the work table and hands.
