Oklahoma health premium hikes cited in reform push

WASHINGTON — The average Oklahoma family’s health care premiums have risen by 77 percent since 2000, according to figures released Friday by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

BLOOD DRIVES,

HEALTH FAIR PLANNED

Oklahoma organizations will mark National Health Care Day of Service today with a health fair at the Capitol and blood drives across the state.

Health fair

The health fair is from 10 a.m. to noon at the plaza south of the state Capitol.

Blood drives

Drives will be from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oklahoma Blood Institute locations at 1001 N Lincoln Blvd.; 5105 N Portland Ave.; 1004 24th Ave. NW, Norman; and from 9 a.m. to noon at the Edmond Home Depot, 1901 S Broadway. Other locations are:


• Lawton: 211 E 81, 8 a.m. to noon.


• Ada: 1930 Stonecipher Blvd., 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.


• Tulsa: 4601 E 81, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.


• Enid: 301 E Cherokee, 8 a.m. to noon.
