'Oklahoma High School Express' expands into Tulsa
KWHB-47 to air weekly show, beginning Aug. 19.
The “Oklahoma High School Sports Express” has expanded into Tulsa with the addition of KWHB-47. Beginning Aug. 19, the station will air the weekly program at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the same time as Oklahoma City's KOKH-25.
Host Van Shea Iven said the show, in its seventh year, will now air in 66 of the state's 77 counties, and he hopes to add additional stations. Additional airings can be found during the week on stations in Enid, Stillwater, Lawton, Broken Arrow, McAlester, Ponca City and on Pioneer DTV. Every episode of the “Express” since 2009 can be found at www.ohsse.com.
Last school year more than 7,000 student-athletes from 345 high schools in 20 sports were mentioned or featured on the program.
— KOCB-34 has a busy NFL preseason schedule of St. Louis Rams and Dallas Cowboys games, beginning with the Rams at Indianapolis at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Other games are Dallas at San Diego, 8 p.m. Aug. 18; St. Louis at Dallas, 7 p.m. Aug. 25; Miami at Dallas, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 29; Baltimore at St. Louis, 7 p.m. Aug. 30.
— NFL Network's live preseason game schedule kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Friday when Tim Tebow makes his New York Jets debut against the Cincinnati Bengals.
— The CBS Sports Network (Cox 251 and 717) will have coverage of the Professional Bull Riders' Express Classic from 9 to 11 p.m. Friday at the BOK Center in Tulsa. Craig Hummer, J.W. Hart and Leah Garcia are the announcers.
— Fox has added former NFL coach Mike Martz and former NFL fullback Heath Evans to its NFL broadcasters lineup. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and reporter Pam Oliver return as the lead team.
