Future engineers set sail in their self-designed boats in a cardboard regatta sponsored by the University of Oklahoma College of Engineering. Sixty high school students capped off a weeklong summer engineering camp with the competition Friday night at the OU Swim Complex.

Earlier in the day, the students raced self-designed, solar-powered boats at the Rawl Engineering Practice Facility. The competitions are designed to give the teens some real-world, hands-on engineering experience to help them plan their careers.
