Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper kills man after traffic stop in west Tulsa

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper shot and killed a man after a traffic stop in west Tulsa at about 9 p.m. Saturday.

The trooper had attempted to stop a vehicle near 33rd West Avenue and 61st Street, OHP Capt. George Brown said.

The man fled on foot, jumping fences for more than half a mile, Brown said. The chase ended in a field just east of Summit Park Full Gospel Church, 5835 S. 33rd West Ave., he said.
