Oklahoma Hit by 10 Quakes—in 3 Days

The strongest in a series of ten minor earthquakes hit central Oklahoma on Sunday night, according to seismologists.

The quake was initially measured at magnitude 4.2 but was later downgraded to a 3.8, the U.S. Geological Survey said.



It was followed by three aftershocks between magnitude 3.0 and 2.7, taking the total number of earthquakes in the area to 10 since Friday, according to NBC News.

The strongest of these quakes hit at 11 p.m. Sunday (midnight ET) about 7 miles southwest of Guthrie, a city of 10,000 people about 30 miles north of Oklahoma City.
