Oklahoma Indian tribes receive $90 million in housing grants

WASHINGTON — Oklahoma Indian tribes were awarded more than $90 million in housing grants on Wednesday, with the Cherokee Nation getting almost one-third of the total.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development announced the grants, which totaled $404 million nationwide and are intended to benefit low-income people living on Indian reservations or in communities.
