Oklahoma journalist D. Jo Ferguson dies at 87

PAWNEE — D. Jo Ferguson , a past president of the Oklahoma Press Association , died Monday. He was 87.

Ferguson was publisher of the Pawnee Chief, which he helped establish with his father and another partner in 1941. Ferguson was also co-publisher of the Hominy News-Progress with his brother, Larry.

Ferguson was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in 1998.
