NORMAN — Oklahoma junior offensive tackle Daryl Williams didn’t say much during his session with reporters Monday afternoon.
But Williams — who was clearly still upset about Saturday’s 36-20 loss to Texas — did drop one interesting confession when asked what surprised him the most about the game.
“I don’t think we played as hard as we could have,” Williams said.
He added that he didn’t think it would be a problem before the game started, but that he began noticing it during, and especially after the game.
Here is more from Williams’ media session:
What did the Texas defensive line do that was so disruptive?
“I really don’t think they were doing anything.”
So what went wrong?
“They just beat us. It happens.”
You’ve had some problems scoring touchdowns against Big 12 teams. How do you kick start the offense?
“I don’t know. That’s a question for coach Heupel. I mean, I don’t think we’ve been doing that bad.”
Is it important for Blake Bell to bounce back?
“I think it’s important for all of us to get back. We all lost the game, not just Blake.”
How can you turn last Saturday into a positive?
“Work hard, practicing, just winning.”
