Oklahoma lawmakers invite DHS commissioners to meeting to answer questions

Rep. Richard Morrissette, D-Oklahoma City, and Rep. Mike Sanders, R-Kingfisher, scheduled the meeting for Friday. Both have raised concerns about the agency in the past.

“This is not a witch hunt,” Sanders said at a news conference.

“Not every DHS worker or commission member is bad. But when children continue to die and we continue to hear DHS say, ‘We are following policy and procedure,' enough is enough. One dead child is one too many. … This is unacceptable.”

Morrissette said, “We have a whole series of questions we'd like to ask them.”
