Oklahoma lawmakers to discuss open records bill
Have questions about open records?
Join Reporter Bryan Dean for a chat at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on NewsOK.com/WatchDog to discuss pending legislation that would address open meetings requirements for the state Legislature with the House and Senate authors of the bill.
State Rep. Jason Murphey, R-Guthrie, and State Sen. David Holt, R-Oklahoma City, began working to subject the state Legislature to open meeting requirements last year.
When the state's open records and meeting laws were originally, passed, legislators exempted themselves. Holt and Murphy will discuss the bill on the chat, why they think it is needed and what needs to happen for it to get passed this year.
We’ll also take your questions about open records and access.
You can join Bryan’s open record Q&A’s on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 2:30 p.m. and submit your questions about legislation and public access in Oklahoma.
