FERAL HOGS

At stake: House Bill 2158 would let big game commercial hunting areas hire a helicopter-riding sharpshooter to kill feral hogs.

What happened: Passed Senate 37-9.

What’s next: Returns to the House.

SCHOOL CALENDAR At stake: HB 1864 defines school year as 1,080 hours instead of 180 days. The change would let school districts extend the length of a school day.
