FEEDER CATTLE
Feeder cattle auction narrative report for Monday.

Receipts: Estimated 11,000; last Monday 7,450; year ago 9,450.

Compared with last week: Feeder steers and heifers $1-$3 lower. Steer and heifer calves $3-$7 lower. Demand moderate for all classes. Cattle futures opening lower this morning and feeder buyers nervously watching the out-front live cattle futures fall. Mr. Sun showed his face for the first time in over a week this past weekend, however, cold front expected to bring more rain later this afternoon. Supply included 1,350 head of reputation ranch calves that sold to very good demand.

Feeder steers: Medium and large No.1 Calves: 300-400 lbs. $116-$116.50, fancy $125.50-$135; 400-450 lbs. $114-$123, fancy $123.50; 450-500 lbs. $101-$106.50, 490 lbs. fancy $113.25; 500-550 lbs. $97-$109.50; 550-600 lbs. $96.50-$102.75, 550 lbs. fancy $112; 600-700 lbs. $90-$99.50; pkg. 725 lbs. $95; Yearlings: 600-650 lbs. $100.50-$106.75; 650-700 lbs. $97.50-$102.50; 700-750 lbs. $96-$102.50; 750-800 lbs. $95-$97.
