A man is accused of assaulting his former girlfriend and her 10-year-old son, who came to the woman's aid, police said.
Johnny L. McClain, 32, was arrested June 17 on suspicion of multiple offenses, including burglary, domestic assault and battery and child abuse.
The woman told police McClain kicked in her door, backhanded her and choked her in late April, after they had stopped dating, according to a probable cause affidavit. The woman told police she was terrified and had trouble breathing.
McClain, according to the affidavit, stopped choking the woman when her two children, ages 10 and 4, ran into the room and screamed “No, that's my mommy.”
The blow to the woman's face caused bruising, police reported.
Last month, McClain returned to the woman's residence and told her he “came in peace,” police reported. When she told him to leave, McClain allegedly grabbed her by both triceps, causing bruising, police said.
That's when the 10-year-old boy hit McClain in attempt to get him off his mother, the affidavit states. McClain hit the boy, causing a bruise to his left shoulder, the woman told police.
McClain remains in custody in the Oklahoma County jail. His bail is set at $56,000, jail records show.
