Oklahoma man charged with public intoxication jailed after appearing drunk in court

BARTLESVILLE — A 37-year-old Bartlesville man charged with public intoxication ended up spending more time in jail after he showed up for his court date drunk.

Special Judge Kyra Williams held an arraignment Monday in Washington County District Court for Kyle David Pinkston on two charges of public intoxication. While Pinkston technically had an arraignment on his first intoxication charge last week, Williams reasoned he might not remember all the details.

According to a court affidavit, when Pinkston arrived at Washington County District Courthouse around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday for his arraignment on the first public intoxication charge, he had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.
