A 32-year-old man died Sunday night after a two-vehicle collision in Garvin County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

About 9 p.m., Rickie W. Garcia, of Wanette, was traveling southbound on Interstate 35 in the inside lane when for an unknown reason his vehicle drifted to the right striking another vehicle.

Garcia corrected to the left and then over-corrected back to the right, troopers said.

His vehicle overturned an undetermined number of times before hitting a tree. He was ejected approximately four feet from the vehicle’s point of rest, troopers said.

After being taken to Pauls Valley General Hospital, Garcia was pronounced dead from massive injuries.

There were no injuries reported for the other vehicle involved. Seat belts were in use by passengers in the other vehicle, but not by Garcia, troopers said.
