Oklahoma man dies after Logan County traffic accident

Gary Forsythe, 22, of Mustang, Oklahoma, died Sunday afternoon after a traffic accident on State Highway 74 in Logan County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

A Mustang man died Sunday afternoon after a traffic accident in Logan County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Shortly before 3 p.m., Gary Forsythe, 22, was driving a vehicle southbound on State Highway 74 about three miles east of Marshall. The car went left of center and struck a northbound tractor-trailer head-on, troopers said.

Forsythe was taken by helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he died, troopers said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, William Hamula, 53, of Norman, was not injured. Forsythe’s passenger, Rick Mullendore, 23, of Yukon was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, troopers said.

Both drivers wore seat belts, but the passenger did not, troopers said.
