Oklahoma man dies in I-40 crash in Arkansas

MULBERRY, Ark. — Authorities say an Oklahoma man is dead after he drifted across the median and crashed into a line of trees along Interstate 40 in western Arkansas.

MULBERRY, Ark. — Authorities say an Oklahoma man is dead after he drifted across the median and crashed into a line of trees along Interstate 40 in western Arkansas.

A preliminary report from Arkansas State Police says 81-year-old C.H. Betterton of Grove, Okla., was driving east Sunday morning on I-40 near Mulberry when he drifted across the median and into the treeline.

State police say Betterton struck several trees before his truck came to a rest. Authorities say Betterton was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported. State police are investigating the cause of the crash.
