Oklahoma measure to establish teacher evaluation system

Oklahoma Senate Bill 2033 includes a teacher evaluation system that will be tied to student test scores, incentive pay and teacher firings. The bill will help the state apply for $175 million in Race to the Top federal education funding.

The state House passed an education reform bill Wednesday that members had soundly defeated just a day earlier.

Senate Bill 2033 includes a teacher evaluation system that will be tied to student test scores, incentive pay and teacher firings. It was approved 75-25. It received only 33 yes votes Tuesday.
