Children's screenings offered

The child guidance program at the Oklahoma City-County Health Department will offer developmental screenings for children birth to 5 years old at the following libraries and on the corresponding dates: the Midwest City library at 8143 E Reno from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday; Edmond Library, 10 S Boulevard from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday; the Northwest library at 5600 NW 122 from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday; the Southern Oaks library at 6900 S Walker from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 24; and the Warr Acres library at 5901 NW 63 from 9 a.m. to noon July 26. Sessions include discussion about the normal range of early development as well as any parenting questions that the parent may have in the areas of speech, language, development and behavior. Sessions are by appointment only. There is a small fee for screenings. Medicaid is accepted. No person will be denied services for inability to pay. Anyone interested in scheduling an appointment can call 425-4412.
