OKC ranks No. 7 in fall allergies

Oklahoma City ranks No. 7 on the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America's 2012 Fall Allergy Capitals list. Louisville, Ky., topped the list as “the most challenging place to live with fall allergies.” It was a drop in rankings for Oklahoma City. Last year, the foundation ranked the city No. 5 for worst fall allergies. Tulsa ranked No. 19. The annual report names 100 U.S. cities based on an analysis of pollen, allergy medications usage and the number of allergy specialists per patient. See the full list at

Pediatric conference set

The Children's Center Pediatric Healthcare Conference will be Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Children's Center in Bethany. It will provide education and updates for nurses who care for children, especially children with special health care and rehabilitation needs. Lori Anderson, an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing, will be the keynote speaker. Anderson's program of research is focused on care of children with special health care needs in the school setting and care coordination between health care, home and school settings.
