G — Jarrod Kruger (6-1, So.): Kansas State walk-on turned Oklahoma transfer.

F — Steve Noworyta (6-7, Fr.): Coming off season where he earned Most Improved honors at Holy Cross High School in Hainesport, N.J.

F — D.J. Bennett (6-8, Jr.): Transfer from Indian Hills (Iowa) Community College will redshirt.

F — C.J. Cole (6-6, Fr.): Former Sperry standout and Oklahoman Super 5 team member will redshirt.

F — Ryan Spangler (6-8, Fr.): Former Bridge Creek star and Oklahoman Player of the Year will sit out this season after transferring from Gonzaga.

Three story lines for OU's season

1. This team will continue to play fast. Oklahoma's speed is what causes rebounding to sometimes lack. The Sooners are so quick to leave one side of the court that when the ball doesn't go in, there's only a player or two there for the rebound. With added enthusiasm from JUCO transfer Amath M'Baye, this Sooners team is likely to be even quicker than last year's squad.

2. The three freshman will all be major producers. Former starters like Andrew Fitzgerald and Sam Grooms, both seniors, were pushed from the starting rotation because of the fearsome freshman. Isaiah Cousins holds the vision, Je'lon Hornbeak holds the drive and Buddy Hield holds the spot at the top of the arc.

3. Rebounding is still critical. And, like last season, it still remains the key as to whether or not the Sooners will jump from near-the-bottom-of-conference expectations this season. It was crucial last season, and Oklahoma out-rebounded its opponents by nearly 100 boards. They finished sixth in the league. Improved rebounding for the Sooners means an improved record.
