Oklahoma motorcyclist dies in police pursuit

A motorcyclist who did not stop for police in Rush Springs crashed and died Monday night. The crash was in Grady County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

— A motorcyclist died while trying to elude Rush Springs police Monday in Grady County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

Michael Petisca, 48, of Rush Springs, died in the crash, troopers said. He did not wear a helmet, the patrol reports.

The patrol reports troopers were not involved in the pursuit

The crash was about 8:30 p.m. Monday on U.S. 81 just south of County Road 1510.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at OU Medical Center from massive head injuries suffered in the crash.

The motorcyclist was northbound exceeding the speed limit and did not stop for police, the patrol reports. The driver failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway and crashed into a ditch.

Investigators reported an odor of alcohol at the scene.
