School board filing to open
People interested in running for the Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education can declare their candidacy for Districts 5 and 7 beginning at 8 a.m. Dec. 2 in the county election board office, 4201 N Lincoln Blvd. The filing period ends at 5 p.m. Dec. 4. The election is Feb. 11.
OKC district seeks input
The Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education is seeking community input in selecting a superintendent. The first of four public meetings will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at the little theater at Northwest Classen High School, 2801 NW 27. PROACT, a search firm, will lead the meetings. Other meeting dates are Monday (Star Spencer High School), Tuesday (Douglass High School) and Dec. 5 (Southeast High School).
Shadid is set to speak
Ward 2 Councilman and mayoral candidate Dr. Ed Shadid will speak at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the RiverPark Neighborhood Association meeting, held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3901 SW 29. The public is invited.

Rose to mark anniversary
Rose State College will mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy with a week of activities. At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the H.B. Atkinson Theatre is a re-enactment of the speech Kennedy was to give on Nov. 22, 1963. The “Unspoken Speech” will be delivered by drama student D'Vonte Stewart. Tickets are free but required.
Caddo County filing starts
Candidates for the board of education in 12 Caddo County school districts file declarations of candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Dec. 2 in the county election board office in Anadarko. The filing period ends at 5 p.m. Dec. 4. The election is Feb. 11. School districts with board openings are Anadarko, Binger-Oney, Boone-Apache, Carnegie, Cement, Cyril, Fort Cobb-Broxton, Gracemont, Hinton, Hydro-Eakly, Lookeba-Sickles and Caddo-Kiowa Technology Center.
