Crash report is released

A preliminary report on a plane crash in Anadarko that killed a Texas man shows the pilot aborted his landing and the aircraft apparently was inverted when it crashed. The Piper PA-28 single-engine aircraft burned on impact after crashing Nov. 6, killing Robert Glasscock, 62, of Lubbock, Texas. The report from the National Transportation Safety Board shows witnesses saw the plane land at Anadarko Municipal Airport — then bounce twice before the pilot aborted the landing and begin to circle the airport. The report shows the plane banked left and apparently became inverted before diving into the ground. The agency said it may be months before a probable cause of the crash is determined.

Fight leaves man dead

A Stillwater man is dead after an apparent domestic altercation Wednesday morning. Wagoner County sheriff's deputies were called to a house south of Okay, where the dead man's ex-wife was staying. Michael Shane Smith, 38, of Stillwater, entered the house without permission and allegedly fought with another man, Maj. Gary Handley said. Handley said Smith died as a result of that struggle, but no additional details were released.
