Man accused of lewd acts
Law officers are looking for a man wanted in Oklahoma County on complaints of lewd acts with a child. The Oklahoma County sheriff's office is seeking the public's help in finding Christopher Dijay, 31, of Oklahoma City. Dijay is accused of sexually abusing three victims under the age of 15. Death brings no charges
Oklahoma City police said Thursday no charges are pending against the driver who hit and killed a woman when she got out of her vehicle to check on a dog. Martha Vasquez, 44, was driving with her 20-year-old son shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday when she struck a dog near NW 164 and May Avenue, police said. When she got out to check on the animal, she was struck by a vehicle driven by Randy Cooper, 31, police said.

Escapees are apprehended
Freedom was fleeting for two inmates who escaped from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center, but they managed to travel quite a distance before being taken back into custody in Arkansas, officials said. Deputy Warden Kameron Harvanek said the inmates, who escaped Wednesday morning from the minimum security facility, were taken into custody in Palestine, Ark. The community lies along Interstate 40 between Little Rock and Memphis, Tenn., about 340 miles from McAlester. Pittsburg County Sheriff Joel Kerns said Jeffery Walker, 22, and Terry Buckley, 27, were taken into custody late Wednesday without incident. Both are serving time for convictions out of Tulsa County.

A Tahlequah man is in jail after prosecutors accused him of tattooing his 10-year-old and 5-year-old cousins. Authorities said Rocky Gritts, 23, was charged with two counts of felony child abuse by injury for allegedly giving permanent tattoos to the two boys. A school resource officer notified authorities after the 10-year-old showed up at school with tattoos on his hands. Gritts was being held Thursday in the Cherokee County jail with bail set at $15,000.
