A Texas woman accused of being the bait that lured a man to Oklahoma where he was fatally shot was convicted of manslaughter, District Attorney Emily Redman said Wednesday. A Bryan County jury convicted Alora Dannin Hix, 21, of Denison, Texas, in the shotgun slaying of Dresean Jaron Jones, 19. Sentencing is set for June 8. Investigators think Wesley Dean Kelley, 19, of Durant, gave Jones $550 for marijuana and when he failed to deliver the drugs, Hix agreed to lure Jones to Cartwright, where Harold Ray Hass, 23, of Denison, Texas, fatally shot him in the back, according to an arrest affidavit. Kelley pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Hass and Dustin Metcalf, 28, of Calera, both face charges of first-degree murder.
