Oklahoma officials should face ouster for violating campaign laws, commission says

City, county and school board officials who violate state campaign laws should face the possibility of ouster, the state Ethics Commission agreed Friday.

Local officials face criminal penalties for violating the state's Political Subdivisions Ethics Act.

“Ouster is a much stronger prophylaxis than a misdemeanor charge,” Commissioner Thomas Walker said.
