The award honors the top quarterback in college football.

Bradford, who will be a sophomore in the 2008 campaign, led the nation in passing efficiency last season as a redshirt freshman. He fired 36 touchdown passes, an NCAA record for freshmen, against just eight interceptions.

On the season, the Oklahoma City native completed 237-of-341 passes for 3,121 yards.

Watch List candidates were selected by a subset of the National Selection Committee and approved by the Davey O'Brien Executive Committee. Semifinalists will be announced Oct. 27 and finalists Nov. 24.

Former Sooner quarterback Jason White received the honor in 2003 and 2004.

Robert, by your standards, there are only 1 or 2 other QBs in the Big XII that will make it through the year (since that is the number of QBs bigger than Bradford). You do know that we have since gone away from the wishbone, correct?

Robert, ok, is the winner of "The Delusional Aggie of the Week" prize. I've changed the rules to include OU haters/misanthropes such as Bob, rhymes with knob which is what he is. We can’t prove he’s an aggie but he certainly is misinformed and about as sharp as a stick of butter. You can do the math. He probably isn't able.

If Bradford is too small, or too timid, I'd love to see a prototype of the "ideal" QB...The kid's just fine, and shows poise way beyond his year(s) As I recall, he sustained the concussion following a Sooner fumble when he dove into the pile to try to recover the ball. Smart, good size, heart, and tougher than a woodpecker's lips...I'll take him anytime!

Seems big to me, could use a little more mass though.

That's true for just about any player idiot. Congrats to Sam Bradford for making the list!
