Oklahoma hotels get awards
Rockville, Md.-based Choice Hotels International Inc. presented its 2014 Gold Hospitality Award to several of its properties in Oklahoma. The chain has more than 6,300 franchised hotels around the world.
Hotels recognized in the Oklahoma metro area were: Comfort Inn & Suites Quail Springs, 13501 N Highland Park Blvd.; Comfort Inn & Suites Airport, 5921 SW 8; Comfort Inn & Suites East, 5653 Tinker Diagonal, Midwest City.
Hotels recognized elsewhere in the Oklahoma were: Comfort Inn & Suites locations in Shawnee, Weatherford, Pauls Valley and Jenks; Econo Lodge Inn & Suites in Clinton; and Sleep Inn & Suites in Lawton.
Durant Realtor wins recognition
DURANT — The Oklahoma Association of Realtors has recognized Life Member Martin Van Meter of Durant for his service of more than 15 years on the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission. The commission grants real estate licenses, acts to safeguard the public interest and investigates and sanctions licensed real estate activities. He served for nearly 16 years, from 1998-2003 and again from 2004-2014. He was presented with a plaque in honor of his public service during a recent association board of directors meeting in Oklahoma City.
With the Realtors, Van Meter has served as a state director and on numerous committees. He is a broker manager with Coldwell Banker Van Meter Select in Durant. He was Oklahoma Realtor of the Year in 2009, is three-time past president and director of the Texoma Board of Realtors and past president of the Durant Chamber of Commerce. He is chairman of Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma.
“With more than four decades under my belt working in the real estate community, it’s important to me that I’ve been able to give back to other members of my profession through serving the commission,” Van Meter said. “I’m certainly proud that I’ve been able to use my experience to help make decisions that have upheld high standards when it comes to the real estate licensing process.”

Moradi joined Stewart’s Oklahoma City team in 2007 as counsel. Moradi provides guidance and help with underwriting issues, procedures and policies, and mentors associates.
