Preservation conference set
PERRY — “Our Sense of Place: Oklahoma's 25th Annual Statewide Preservation Conference” will be June 5-7 in downtown Perry. There will be three concurrent sessions: Homes and Hometowns, featuring neighborhoods, houses, commercial buildings, sacred places, and other properties; Technologies and Techniques, exploring how preservationists use technology and preservation techniques to share information, adapt historic buildings for new uses, and protect properties; and Landmarks and Landscapes, looking at the vernacular and designed landscapes and icons that connect Oklahomans to the places they call home.
The conference will include much more, such as the opening reception on the Noble County Courthouse square, special tours, the State Historic Preservation Office's annual awards banquet and Preservation Oklahoma Inc.'s annual meeting, Details are available at www.okhistory.org/shpo/conference.htm and online registration is open at www.shpo.perrymainstreet.com.
Noble to lead title group
Jeff Noble has been installed as president-elect of the Oklahoma Land Title Association 2013-14 Board of Directors. Noble is senior vice president, general counsel and a director of Old Republic Title Co. of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. He also is vice president and Oklahoma counsel for Old Republic National Title Insurance Co.
Noble is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association and the Commercial Real Estate Council of Oklahoma City.
Wittrock receives award
Monica Wittrock of First American Title in Oklahoma City received the “Bill Gill Memorial Award-Title Person of the Year” at the Oklahoma Land Title Association's recent annual convention in Tulsa. The award is presented each year to the person who has gone above the call of duty for the title industry.
