Spotlight shines on roofing firm

Malarkey Roofing Products, 3400 S Council Road, will have the spotlight in Oklahoma for national Manufacturing Day on Oct. 4. Malarkey will offer tours to students and others to observe the manufacturing process. Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb will make remarks at 10 a.m.

Manufacturing Day is meant to “amplify the voice of individual manufacturers and coordinate a collective chorus of manufacturers with common concerns and challenges.” The national event was organized by Fabricators and Manufacturers Association International, National Association of Manufacturers, Manufacturing Extension Partnership, Manufacturing Institute and other organizations, and at the state level by the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance. TopGolf sets sights on OKC, Tulsa

Dallas-based TopGolf said Friday that is looking for a location to develop a flagship in Oklahoma. TopGolf offers golfing games for all ages and skill levels with advanced technology. The company has nine locations and four others under construction.

Once a site is selected, TopGolf will develop a three-level location with 4,000 square feet of private event space and 102 bays to accommodate up to six players at a time. TopGolf said its locations employ more than 400 people and become anchors that attract other popular franchises.

“Exploring the major Oklahoma markets of Oklahoma City and Tulsa for a future TopGolf was an easy decision,” said Randy Starr, chief development officer. “We have been following the great story of Oklahoma's vibrant economy and expanding population base, and it doesn't hurt that residents have already vocalized their desire for us to open here after having visited our neighboring facilities.”
