Comfort Inn hotel gets award

Comfort Inn & Suites Quail Springs, 13501 N Highland Park Blvd., recently received a 2013 Platinum Hospitality Award from franchiser Choice Hotels International Inc. The hotel is south of Kilpatrick Turnpike between May and Pennsylvania. As a top-performing property among the company's more than 5,000 U.S. franchised hotels, the Comfort Inn & Suites Quail Springs is one of the strongest properties within the Comfort brand, which has 2,673 locations. “The Comfort Inn & Suites Quail Springs hotel's commitment to excellence and outstanding guest service has earned it this well-deserved recognition,” said Steve Joyce, president and CEO of Choice Hotels, which also includes the Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, MainStay Suites, Suburban Extended Stay Hotel, Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn brands and the Ascend Hotel Collection membership program.

Arvest reports increase

Arvest Bank said it originated more than 17,000 mortgages totaling $2.56 billion in 2012 — including purchasing and refinancing — a 62-percent increase over $1.58 billion in 2011. The bank, based in Bentonville, Ark., reported a 37 percent increase in the value of purchase mortgages, from $597 million in 2011 to $818 million in 2012, significantly higher than the projected increase in such loans nationally. The Mortgage Bankers Association projected 2012 purchase loans to be up 9 percent nationally from 2011. Arvest Bank operates 230 bank branches in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. “We see this increase in purchase money transactions as a positive sign and recognize that homebuyers are looking for local lenders who will focus on customer service after the loan is originated,” said Steven Plaisance, president and chief operating officer of Arvest Mortgage, which services 99 percent of its loans.

Broker earns high retail rating

CB Richard Ellis has ranked broker Mark Inman of CB Richard Ellis-Oklahoma in Oklahoma City among its top 25 retail brokers nationally and in the top 10 for in the company's central division in 2012. Inman specializes in retail property sales and leasing as well as retail tenant representation, particularly big box leasing and sales. He represents numerous national retailers with site selection.
