DALLAS — Colleyville (Texas) Heritage quarterback Cody Thomas got off to a rough start Friday night against Irving MacArthur.

Thomas threw a pair of early interceptions — one in the end zone and another returned for a touchdown — as Heritage quickly found itself in a three-touchdown hole.

But Thomas rebounded in a big way, throwing for 541 yards and seven touchdowns in Heritage's 56-47 win.

“Tonight's probably a prime example of why we have teammates,” Thomas said. “Me myself didn't start out the way I wanted to and the team didn't start out the way we wanted to.

“We just kept believing in each other and just kept on fighting.”

A day later, Thomas was in the Cotton Bowl to watch the Sooners' 63-21 Red River Rivalry win over Texas.

“I'm really looking forward to it,” Thomas said Friday. “I've never been to that game before so it should be great.”

SOONERS HOST VISITORS

Since OU was the home team this season, the Sooners were able to host recruits for the game.

Oklahoma took advantage with a long visitors list that was expected to include plenty of commits as well as a large number of uncommitted players.
