Oklahoma recruiting notebook: Colleyville (Texas) Heritage QB Cody Thomas throws for seven touchdowns Friday night

OU commit got off to a rough start, but recovered in a big way during Heritage's 56-47 win.

Commits Thomas, Austin Bennett, Matt Dimon, Keith Ford, Jordan Mastrogiovanni, Stanvon Taylor and D.J. Ward were expected to attend, as well as 2014 commit Armanti Foreman.

The Sooners also had several players who have committed to other schools in attendance, such as USC's Torrodney Prevot, LSU's Chris Hardeman, Arizona State's Dimarya Mixon, Texas A&M's Kerrick Huggins and Oklahoma State's Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and Ra'Shaad Samples.

Norman North's Jordan Evans, Edmond Santa Fe's Justice Hansen, Edmond North's Michael Farmer, Douglass' Deondre Clark and Broken Arrow's Devon Thomas were also expected in attendance.


Bennett (Manvel, Texas) had five catches for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Manvel's 48-0 win over Pasadena Dobie. ... Mastrogiovanni's Dallas Jesuit team got a big 59-7 win over W.T. White and teammate Jake Oliver moved to within five catches of the Texas state record for career receptions. Oliver, a Texas commit, had six catches to tie current Sooner Trey Metoyer with 259 catches. Former Longhorns standout Jordan Shipley had 264 from 2000-03.
