Gospel singing event is planned

— The Del City Gospel Singing will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Del City First Church of the Nazarene, 4701 SE 26. The Jubil-Heirs from Texas and The Ambassadors will be featured. Admission is free. A love offering will be received. The Jubil-Heirs will be guest singers during the 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship service at the church. For more information, call 677-2330.

Guest will lead Pentecost event

OKC Faith Church will host a “Celebrate Pentecost” event with special guest speaker Bishop Roy Tucker at 6 p.m. Sunday at 800 S Portland. Tucker is from Charlotte, N.C. Child care will be provided. For more information, go to

Music group will hold workshop

The Oklahoma City Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America Inc. will host its annual session June 16-20 at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1020 NE 42.

A Welcome Musical will be at 7 p.m. June 16, showcasing several local choirs as well as the chapter’s Women of Worship and Men of Promise. The Finale Musical will be at 7 p.m. June 20.

On-site registration will be at 6 p.m. June 17-19. Cost is $35, $20 for young adults ages 18-40, $10 for youth ages 13-17 and free for children ages 5-12. For more information, call Alan Washington at 418-6524.

Mark Lowry and The Martins include Owasso stop on tour

Gospel recording artists Mark Lowry and The Martins are hitting the road together for the first time on the “Music & Madness” tour, which includes a concert in Owasso.

On the tour presented by Muse Concerts and sponsored by Feed the Children, Lowry and The Martins will perform in concert at 7 p.m. June 20 at Friendship Baptist Church, 14100 E 86th St. N. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The history between Lowry and sibling trio Joyce, Jonathan and Judy Martin spans more than two decades when Lowry introduced the group to Bill and Gloria Gaither. Lowry is best known for penning the Christmas classic “Mary Did You Know?” and for years singing baritone in the Grammy-Award-winning Gaither Vocal Band.
