— Republican members of Oklahoma's congressional delegation have donated more than $1.7 million from their campaign accounts and political action committees to GOP candidates and national party organizations in the last two years, according to federal campaign reports.

Since most members of the delegation had little competition or no race at all this year, the lawmakers redirected some of the money they had collected to candidates with tough races or to the Republican campaign arms for House and Senate races.

The Oklahomans have sent some of their money to Republican congressional candidates in Oklahoma. Markwayne Mullin, the Republican running for the eastern Oklahoma seat being vacated by Rep. Dan Boren, has received $25,000 combined from Oklahoma's U.S. senators and three of its U.S. House members.

Jim Bridenstine, the Republican who defeated incumbent Rep. John Sullivan in the Tulsa area district primary, has received $19,500.

Rep. Frank Lucas, R-Cheyenne, has contributed the most to candidates and GOP causes — $678,125 from his own campaign account and the political action committee he controls.

The majority of the money has gone to the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Muskogee, has directed $362,000 to Republicans running for the Senate and to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, has sent $333,500 to Republican campaigns.

Rep. Tom Cole, R-Moore, has sent $183,000 from his campaign account and political action committee to GOP campaign committees.

Sullivan made $14,500 in donations from his political action committee, including $2,500 to his own campaign account to retire debts.

Boren, D-Muskogee, the only Democrat in the state's congressional delegation, has donated $24,000 to Democratic campaigns in the last two years, though none to Rob Wallace, the Democratic nominee running for his seat.

Oklahoma donations to presidential race

Oklahomans have donated $4,248,177 to Republican Mitt Romney's presidential campaign and $1,803,052 to President Barack Obama's re-election campaign, according to the latest figures from the Federal Election Commission.

Of Romney's donations, $1.1 million came from ZIP codes in Oklahoma City, Midwest City, Del City and Nichols Hills.
