The Oklahoma Rifle Association will hold an 18-hour training course for handgun instructors June 16-17 at the Shoot-N-Iron Training Academy in Shawnee.
Individuals completing the course will be qualified to conduct Oklahoma self-defense license training. For more information, email okgun@cox.net.
Women In The Outdoors event in Edmond
The East Oklahoma County Strutters chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is hosting a Women In The Outdoors event May 19 at the Arcadia Conservation Education Area in Edmond.
Participants can learn archery, pistol shooting, shotgunning, knot tying, outdoor photography, bird watching and other outdoor activities. There is even a course on trailer backing.

Meeting in Canton
The Oklahoma Youth Hunting and Shooting Program is holding a noon meeting Wednesday in Canton at the Senior Citizens Center.
The organization, which takes youth on their first hunts, is seeking willing landowners to participate.
