Jan 28Expect temperatures in the upper sixties for Saturday and...
Warm and dry conditions are expected today, keeping the potential for wildfires at a very high level, according to the National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office.
Many locations Friday reached high temperatures in the 70s. By early afternoon Friday, a temperature of 76 degrees was recorded at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City.
A cold front will move into Oklahoma late today into Sunday, leading to cooler conditions Sunday with high temperatures closer to normal. Another storm will begin to impact the region Monday into Tuesday while much colder air arrives from Canada.
This second system will increase the chances for frozen or freezing precipitation. Snow, freezing rain and sleet are possibilities, but the specific type of precipitation for various locations was still uncertain Friday.
