A scary scene unfolded Saturday at the Sawyer Center in Bethany during the Southern Nazarene men's basketball game against Arkansas Tech.
With 9:41 left in the first half, Arkansas Tech's Jeff Reese came off the floor complaining of shortness of breath. Reese collapsed, and the teams' training staffs administered CPR and used a defibrillator before Reese regained consciousness. He was transported to a hospital, and coaches said he was stable and being kept overnight for observation.
The game resumed after a 45-minute delay. Arkansas Tech players received a standing ovation from fans and hugs from SNU players when they returned to the floor.
Southern Nazarene went on to win 61-54, with Ryan Aaron scoring a team-high 19 points.
