BROOKS HONORED NATIONALLY
Oklahoma senior Tia Brooks was named NCAA Division I Women's Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Brooks, the defending indoor and outdoor national champion in the shot put, dominated at the J.D. Martin Invitational last weekend; she threw 61-feet, 63/4 inches to win the event by nearly 12½ feet. The throw is the third-best in the world for 2013 and tops in the NCAA.
