OKLAHOMA SCENE: Barons break skid on Justin Schultz's overtime goal

Oklahoma City returns to the Cox Center at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday for the annual Field Trip Day game. The Barons will play the Toronto Marlies.

*Carley Stanley scored her 10th goal of the season and added two assists as Central Missouri hammered previously unbeaten Southwestern State 3-0 in the NCAA Division II Central Regional II. Central Minnesota will play Minnesota-Mankato for the Central Regional championship, with the victor advancing to the NCAA Championships.

Southwestern State finished 20-1-1.

*The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma received a host site for the NAIA Men's Soccer Championships. The Drovers (13-0-4) will find out Monday who they play in the Opening Round on Hampton Field at Chickasha High School. The first game is scheduled for Saturday. USAO is tied for No. 4 in the NAIA rankings with Concordia (Calif.).


Oklahoma City native Wayne Johnson remained in the national championships chase, finishing third late Saturday night in an American Sprint Car Series A feature at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces. Johnson, who now lives in Knoxville, Iowa, is 122 points shy of Jason Johnson of Eunice, La., with three races remaining on the 2012 schedule. Travis Rilat of Forney, Texas, and Johnny Herrera of Albuquerque, N.M., finished first and second, respectively, Saturday night. Jason Johnson was fourth.
