The short-handed Oklahoma City Barons became a little thinner Monday, when the Edmonton Oilers called up defenseman Taylor Fedun. He is the ninth player recalled by the Oilers since the end of the NHL lockout a week ago. Edmonton is in a week-long training camp; the Oilers' season begins Sunday against the Vancouver Canucks.

Fedun participated in the Oilers training camp last season but suffered a season-ending broken leg during a preseason game. In 35 games this season with the Barons, Fedun has scored nine points, including two goals.

Before joining the Oilers organization Fedun played four seasons at Princeton, serving as team captain his final season. He scored 68 points in 127 games at Princeton.

Edmonton now has 26 players in camp but must cut the roster to 23 before opening the regular season Sunday at Vancouver.

EAST CENTRAL COACH SUSPENDED

East Central University men's head basketball coach Mac McConnell has been suspended, pending an investigation, according to athletic director Jeff Williams.

McConnell was cited and arrested for allegedly driving under the influence early Sunday morning in Ada.
