RICHEY NAILS WINNER
*St. Gregory's started the men's basketball season with a 76-75 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan on Friday night, when Fayzon Richey sank the game-winning shot just before the buzzer. The 3-pointer from the top of the key capped a comeback in which the Cavaliers trailed by 15 points with 11:50 left in the game. Richey, a former El Reno High standout, had a game-high 35 points.
The Central Oklahoma women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 double overtime loss to Fort Hays State (Kan.) on Friday night in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Tournament in Warrensburg, Mo. UCO (15-2-3) had is 12-game unbeaten streak end and must wait until Monday to find out if it receives an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Fort Hays State's Jordan Hester scored the winner at 6:01 to help the Tigers (12-7-1) advance to Sunday's championship game against Central Missouri.

No one has cut into the Thanksgiving turkey yet — and the Sooner Athletic Conference has already released its preseason baseball poll for 2012.
Oklahoma City has been chosen to win the league championship, collecting four of a possible eight first-place votes. Rogers State, with three first-place votes, is second, while Oklahoma Baptist, with the remaining first-place vote, is third. Lubbock Christian, USAO, Wayland Baptist (Texas), St. Gregory's and Mid-America Christian round out the poll. Southern Nazarene, Oklahoma Christian and Northwestern State are no longer in the NAIA league; all three schools are moving to NCAA Division II.
*Tickets for the Chesapeake Energy Snow Tube at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark are on sale at okcredhawks.com and ticketmaster.com. Single-session tickets are $10. There are five, 90-minute sessions per day, beginning Saturday, Nov. 24. Session times are noon, 2 p.m., 4, 6 and 8. The snowtube will be open on weekends only through Dec. 16. Daily snowtubing begins Dec. 20 and runs through Jan. 5. The snowtube closes at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.
*The Oklahoma Baptist University women's basketball team will play Southwestern State in an exhibition game on Monday in Shawnee. The game was originally scheduled for Rankin Williams Field House in Weatherford, but the Southwestern State gymnasium has sustained water damage. Game time Monday will be 5 p.m. OBU (0-1) opened its regular-season schedule Thursday night with a 71-61 loss to NAIA No. 21-ranked Columbia College.
