COWGIRLS TO FACE ILLINOIS
The No. 2-ranked Oklahoma State soccer team will play Illinois at 5 p.m. Friday in the second round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championships in Stillwater. OSU (20-1-2) advanced to the second round via its 9-1 rout last week of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Illinois (17-4-2) beat Notre Dame, which eliminated Oklahoma State from the tournament a year ago. The winner of the OSU-Illinois game will play the victor between Maryland (11-5-4) and Auburn (15-6-2) at 1 p.m. Sunday in Stillwater.
U.S. SITTING VOLLEYBALL WINS
The U.S. Men's Sitting Volleyball Team, which trains at the University of Central Oklahoma, won its third match at the Parapan American Games. The Americans beat Canada 3-1 late Tuesday. Eric Duda had 14 kills and two aces for the U.S., which was scheduled to play Costa Rica and Colombia on Wednesday. Those results were not available at press time.
