The Harlem Globetrotters will make their annual Oklahoma City stop at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The Globetrotters will face either the Washington Generals, New York Stars or Boston Shamrocks — while trying to avoid their first loss since 1971. Tickets, with prices ranging between $24 and $121, are on sale at the Chesapeake Energy Arena box office, Ticketmaster outlets, Homeland stores or by calling (800) 745-3000.
With another round of winter weather headed for Oklahoma, some athletic programs have already called off scheduled events:
*Mid-America Christian University's baseball games Tuesday vs. Hillsdale College have been postponed. No makeup date has been announced.
*Oklahoma Baptist's home baseball games Friday and Saturday vs. York (Neb.) and Evangel (Mo.) have been canceled.
*Matt Page of Oklahoma Baptist was named Sooner Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, and Chris Sutton of St. Gregory's was selected as SAC Pitcher of the Week. Page, a senior first baseman, batted .667 with four doubles, a triple, a homer, four runs, six walks and two stolen bases. Sutton, a sophomore from Moore, threw a complete-game four-hitter against Sterling (Kan.), ranked No. 7 in the NAIA.
*Oklahoma Baptist guard Charity Fowler was selected SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The junior from Asher averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds over three games.
*Jamaal Crayton of Oklahoma City U. was chosen as SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard averaged 19.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals through two games.
