Oklahoma scene: Houston beats Barons in preseason game

Mikael Granlund scored four goals and assisted on another as the Houston Aeros beat the Barons 6-2 in an AHL preseason game at the Cox Center.

Tyler Pitlick and Ryan Martindale scored Oklahoma City's goals.

The Barons open the regular season on Friday at the Lake Erie Monsters.

CHRIS BROWN WINS ADAMS TOUR EVENT AT BELMAR

Dallas product Chris E. Brown fired a final round 5-under 65 on Saturday to win the OK Kids Korral Championship at Belmar Golf Club.

The tournament is part of the Adams Pro Golf Tour.

Brown caught fire on the back nine with birdies on three of his first four holes. After a bogey on the Par 3 17th, Brown made up for it with a birdie on the final hole to post a 65. It was enough to secure a one-stroke victory at 14-under-par total.

OU MEN'S GOLF IN 6TH

The Oklahoma men's golf team climbed five spots to sixth place after shooting a second-round 286 (2-under) at the Brickyard Collegiate Championship in Macon, Ga.
