Oklahoma scene: Liberty High football coach Earl Tennial arrested

Tennial arrested on complaints of lewd molestation and lewd proposal to a minor at the school

Tennial met with a deputy about midday Thursday at the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office and was placed under arrest, according to the document. He posted bond and was released from jail on Thursday night, and he has a Jan. 2 court date, according to the jail's website.

Liberty superintendent Donna Campo said Thursday night that Tennial has been suspended with pay and her recommendation that he be fired will be considered at a Jan. 14 school board meeting.

The Oklahoma baseball team was No. 14 in the Collegiate Baseball preseason rankings. The Sooners (42-25 last season) were the only state team in the poll, which ranks the top-40 schools. Arkansas (46-22) was No. 1, followed by North Carolina, Vanderbilt, LSU and UCLA. TCU (No. 15) and Texas (No. 21) were the only other Big 12 teams in the rankings.
