Markel Brown gave Oklahoma State the lead for good on a 3-pointer with 45 seconds remaining, and the Cowboys went on to beat Barcelona Select 86-81 Sunday in a men's basketball exhibition game in Viladecavalis, Catalonia, Spain. Brown finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds as OSU improved to 2-0 on its playing tour through Spain.

The Cowboys notched a 23-point win Friday against Barcelona Select. But Barcelona coach Ruben Filipy added a few more athletic players for Sunday's game, including Nate Higgs, who finished with a game-high 23 points. Higgs, who played at Elizabeth City State University (N.C.) before turning pro overseas, hit five shots from 3-point territory.

OSU will play CB Gran Canaria Under-20 at 1 p.m. (Oklahoma time) Tuesday in the Canary Islands.

Shane Stewart of Bixby finished sixth late Saturday night in the grand finale of the 52nd annual Knoxville Nationals sprint car races in Iowa. Stewart had the best finish out several drivers with Oklahoma roots. Broken Arrow resident Stevie Smith finished seventh, and Owasso resident Daryn Pittman was 15th. Oklahoma City native Wayne Johnson, who is contending for the American Sprint Car Series' national championship, failed to make the big-money race after finishing 15th in a last-chance B feature. He needed to finish in the top four to transfer.
