Rage in the Cage OKC will have a mixed martial arts card on April 19 at the Oklahoma Farmer’s Public Market, located at 311 S Klein. The fights will serve as benefit to assist the Denney family, which continues to recover financially from effects of the Oklahoma City Bombing in April 1995.

Jim Denney, the father of Brandon and Rebecca, had to quit his job as a shop foreman years ago to assist in the kids’ recovery from severe injuries. Brandon had extensive rehabilitation and continues to suffer seizures after a head injury. Rebecca required three surgeries.

“(Brandon) had rehab three times a week, and we needed to be there for our children to give them every opportunity for a fair shake at life,” Jim said. “Thankfully, (Timothy) McVeigh didn’t take our children’s lives, but he murdered our family financially.”

Jim Denney and wife Claudia, who also quit her job to care for the kids, estimated they have lost $500,000 in salary. The family sold their home in 2002 and currently live in a small rent house.

Rage in the Cage OKC will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from the April 19 event to the Denney family. More than two dozen fights are on the card, including a main event that pits 155-pounders Ken Coulter and Shaun Bley. Both are from Oklahoma City.
